IGB offers the Ion GeneStudio™ S5 Food Protection System, a semiconductor-based next-generation sequencing (NGS) platform designed for comprehensive food authenticity testing. It enables accurate identification of meat, fish, and plant species across a wide range of food and feed samples, including highly processed and complex matrices.
As part of the Thermo Scientific™ NGS Food Authenticity Workflow, the system uses an untargeted sequencing approach to detect and identify species by comparing DNA sequences against validated reference databases. This supports critical food industry needs such as authenticity verification, origin tracing, contamination detection, and regulatory compliance.
Optimized for food testing laboratories, the system combines flexibility, scalability, and ease of use, making it suitable for both routine testing and advanced research applications.
