Overview:
IGB offers the Ion AmpliSeq Microbiome Health Research Kit, a targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) solution designed for comprehensive characterization of the human gut microbiome. This assay enables detailed profiling of microbial communities implicated in health and disease by targeting multiple hypervariable regions of the 16S rRNA gene along with species-specific markers.
The kit includes two pools of Ion AmpliSeq primers and optimized reagents to generate high-quality amplicon libraries for sequencing on Ion Torrent platforms such as the Ion S5 and Ion Chef systems. It supports accurate taxonomic classification and relative abundance analysis, even from low-input DNA samples derived from human stool.
